My current area of interest is dark matter halos and describing halos as their orbiting and infalling particles. More specifically, we are trying to classify these particles based on their kinetic energy, where we see a separation between the orbiting and infalling at negative radial velocities. I am currently working with Edgar Salazar's package Oasis, an algorithm that generates a halo catalogue based on the kinetic mass criterion to classify dark matter halo particles as either orbiting or infalling. This algorithm is for redshift z = 0, and we would like to see if the algorithm can hold for redshift greater than 0.
